Chet's New Candy Wall

by Nina Lees and Rose Callahan

Recently Chet’s Video and Candy Shop closed. Fortunately, only the video renting closed. Candy is still open! Instead of it being at the old building it has moved to ...ORANGE LEAF! Although this might sound like a crazy idea it's actually quite convenient and popular. The new candy is in the back of the store and everything that you loved from Chet’s is there! Some of the candies include lollipops, gum, chocolate, and lots of awesome choices.

If there just isn't flavors of ice cream, you can pick from the many new selections of candy. Chet's candy wall is a great addition to the already, wonderful

Village school Chorus concert

By Peyton D. and Nathan B. The chorus was held on Monday, December 18th at Veterans Middle school from 6:30-7:30. The fourth, fifth and sixth-grade chorus members, their parents and all the music teachers were at the concert. A chorus member, Peyton Downey, said, ‘‘It took the 6th grade a couple of months to perfect their songs, Honerot Halalu and Holiday Celebrations. It was fun to perform all our songs all together.’’ Each grade performed two songs and the whole group sang one together. At the end of the concert, there was a holiday sing-along for everyone to sing. The sixth-grade members sang Honerot Halalu and Holiday Celebrations and all the three grades together sang Mrs. Claus .

What is it like to be a Long Term Substitute?

By: Jack B. This year Ms. Harris took over for a fourth-grade teacher and is a long-term sub for fourth grade.  In October, Ms. Sweet went out and Ms. Harris came in as a long-term substitute. I asked her about being a long-term sub and how she started teaching and other questions. She said, “It is weird starting in a new class because I feel weird when I start anything new.” I went on and asked her about how she started teaching and she said that both of her parents were teachers and she thought that it would be fun working with kids. She also said that she started at Village School and that she wanted to teach for the rest of her life. She also said she would like to work with kids for the rest of her life if she couldn’t teach anymore. She said that teaching is her favorite job in the world and it would be fantastic to teach for the rest of her career.

When his parents tell him that he is going to start middle school at a real school, he freaks out. They had to leave some things out of the movie that were kind of important in the book. One important thing they left out was how Auggie got a hearing aid. I think that the book was good because you could really use your imagination, but they both did very well. At Village School in Marblehead MA, every fourth grader reads the book, Wonder . Then last month, the movie Wonder came out. Samantha Roman, a sixth grader at the village school, has read the book and seen the movie. “I like the movie I thought they did good with it,” said Roman. She said that she liked how the book had sections with a different character's perspective every time. She also said that personally, she likes to read the book first then ...
