Bretton Woods Club: Pros and Cons

By Sophia H.
Last weekend, I went to the Bretton Woods Club (BWC) and interviewed 6th grader Madeline Jacobson from Maine about the BWC: the pros and the cons plus some of the perks of being a member or guest. She had many pros and very few cons.
Ms. Jacobson said, “One of the reasons I like the BWC is because there are enough people that its very friendly, but not enough to have it too crowded.” Another reason that she said that she liked it was because the staff are very kind to everyone.
She did have many pros, but nothing is perfect. Although the BWC is nice, it does have its cons. One: “There is one chef so sometimes you might have to wait a little longer to get your desired food.” Two, she reports that it's not like you would just go to Bretton Woods just to sit in a lodge, when you could be skiing or snowboarding so it's fine that the BWC is not huge. But when you want to climb the rock wall or have a larger option of food you have to walk to the main lodge.
There are pros there are cons to belonging to the BWC but there are also perks. There is one big perk that stands out above all the other perks. That very special perk is, if you belong to the BWC you have your own lift line that only members can go in! There is one smaller one the BWC is only for members if you are not a member you are not allowed to come inside unless invited in by a member to be there guest.

People from all over New England enjoy belonging to the Bretton Woods Club!

Village school Chorus concert

By Peyton D. and Nathan B. The chorus was held on Monday, December 18th at Veterans Middle school from 6:30-7:30. The fourth, fifth and sixth-grade chorus members, their parents and all the music teachers were at the concert. A chorus member, Peyton Downey, said, ‘‘It took the 6th grade a couple of months to perfect their songs, Honerot Halalu and Holiday Celebrations. It was fun to perform all our songs all together.’’ Each grade performed two songs and the whole group sang one together. At the end of the concert, there was a holiday sing-along for everyone to sing. The sixth-grade members sang Honerot Halalu and Holiday Celebrations and all the three grades together sang Mrs. Claus .

But it’s all coming to an end (at least, the video part of the store). On March 31, 2018 the doors of Chet’s videos will be closed for good. Thank you so much to Chet Strout for dedicating your time to Chet’s Video & Candy Shoppe. We all know that it will be hard to say goodbye to something we’ve known and loved for so long.
