“Mad Mike Hughes” A Flat Earther

His plans to launch himself into space in homemade steam rocket nearly as far-fetched as what he is trying to prove.

by Jack P.

Mike Hughes, nicknamed “Mad Mike Hughes," is one of the US’s several resident flat-Earthers. He plans to launch himself into space using a homemade steam powered rocket that scientists only predict will be able to travel up to 500 mph and less than 2,000 feet high. Much less the 24,000 feet per second needed to reach even low orbit. A Boeing 747 flies higher than Hughes rocket.

Hughes believe that the Earth is flat and that all science is fake or false and it’s all a cover up by the people that “secretly control the world," he explains in several of his youtube videos. One anonymous youtuber in the comment section of one of Hughes's videos commented “Just walk off the end of the world!”
Mrs. Gianinno, a sixth-grade science teacher, expressed her concerns about Hughes, his mental health, and how badly his plan is failing and why. "Does Hughes have the necessary training or equipment?" She asked. Mrs. Giannino again found herself perplexed and said, "Strange to me that he would use something that won’t get him there anyway. He seems to also have exhausted all options."
Hughes continually dismisses all science as fake and a fabrication of the truth. Mrs. Giannino asks, "Why does he dismiss all science?" To even attempt a racket launch Hughes needs to use litter rocket science and he does not dismiss that science as fake.
After many complications and setbacks, Hughes still intends to attempt this stunt of the highest order. Is a flat Earth possible. The simple answer is no. However Mike Hughes and others like him are still trying to prove this imposible myth.
One of the Village post’s reporters interviewed world traveling physicist Jimmy Isenberg via email. Many wonder whether or not Hughes will survive this world class stunt. Jimmy answered, “No, he won’t reach space” and “Yes, he will survive."
We still wonder if Hughes knows he will fail why is he really doing it at his core? Thankfully, in the interview, Jimmy was able to shed some light on the subject. “He is doing it for publicity,” wrote Jimmy. He answers several following questions with the same or similar answers. Publicity. It’s all out publicity according to Jimmy.
Will this steam powered rocket even work, or even reach space? “A steam powered rocket can work. But it is far from the best way to get a rocket into space.” said Jimmy.

Is the flat Earth movement a serious thing? According to the flat Earth society: yes! But on the contrary Jimmy said, “The flat Earth movement is silly. It is easy to show that the Earth is close to a round ball. But like Hughes, it’s goal is publicity. Aiming for that goal, it is very successful.” So this is according to reliable sources a complete and utter joke. So you can all relax and watch as Hughes launches himself into fame and not much else.

Is McDonald's The Best Ever?

By Eliot P. and Andy P. There are positive opinions about McDonald's from different people, but too much McDonald's is not healthy. It can really hurt your diet. Meals for some people can contain thousands of calories. I suggest that you don't go or only go once in awhile. But that doesn't stop many people from eating there, such as Miles O'Neill. One quote from Miles O'Neill about McDonald's that clearly shows he likes it is, “I like the 30 piece chicken nugget. And I also like a large fry. And I also like my two drinks the McFlurry and the medium soda. And I also like the Big Mac and the Jumbo Mac.” And we also heard a little bit from Scott Campbell. This is what he had to say: “My favorite meal at McDonald's is french fries and chicken fingers.” He also said it was very good and that he would definitely go back. Lots of people like McDonald's but lots of people avoid it and think it's gross. In my opinion, I love McDonald's

Castle Quest- General Perspective of a Kid

Over the past few weeks, students from the 4th, 5th, 6th grade have been doing a program brought by the Boosterthon. They call it the “Fun Run” or what I hear from other grades “Cringey Quest”. Every day, students have been watching the 6 virtues of a true hero. Some may say Castle Quest is weird, and the videos have “cringey” acting. From what I hear there has been a lot of disrespectful comments about when the “hero” Ethan is in a confusing task.
